π Step 1: Work Out What to Delegate
Make a list and ask:
- [ ] What am I doing that someone else could take on?
- [ ] What would help someone grow if they had a go?
- [ ] Whatβs eating up time that I could use better elsewhere?
π‘ If itβs repetitive, outside your core skills, or a growth opportunity for someone, itβs a candidate.
𧩠Step 2: Match the Work to the Right Person
Consider the following and filter down based on:
- [ ] How urgent or time critical is this? (If critical, narrow down to only those ready to run with it)
- [ ] How much support can you provide and how much would the person need?
- [ ] Whoβs shown interest in this kind of work?
- [ ] Who might benefit from trying it?
- [ ] How does this sit alongside other priorities the person has?
- [ ] Have they got space to take it on or would they have to drop something else?
π Step 3: Set Clear Expectations
